We aim to provide each and every student with a quality dance education by providing
personalized attention in a positive class environment. We aim to build confidence, a positive
self image and work hard to help our students achieve their very best in a family friendly, low
pressure environment.
Our History
Art in Motion Dance Studio was formed in 2005 by Diane M. Caporella, also known as "Miss
Diane" to her students. Mrs. Caporella's dance training began at age 3 right at this very
location under the tutelage of Ellen Crescenta Quinn. Her teaching career has spanned two
decades. She has studied all forms of dance extensively and has been trained in classical
ballet as well as the latest hip hop, jazz, tap and lyrical. Miss Diane completed an extensive
apprenticeship program with the Ellen Crescenta School of Dancing. In addition to her training
from the age of three with the Ellen Crescenta School of Dancing, she also studied with
internationally renowned master teachers in New York City as well as with the Pennsylvania
Centre for Ballet and the Philadelphia Civic Ballet. In addition to dance instruction, Mrs.
Caporella has choreographed and staged musical productions throughout the area. She is a
National Dance Week Delegate and a member of the International Teachers of Dance, Inc.,
where she continues her studies by attending workshops throughout the year. Although she
began Art in Motion in 2005, she has been teaching dance to the Marple-Newtown and
surrounding communities for 24 years.

We are delighted to announce that Ellen Crescenta Quinn has
returned to 27 N. Sproul Road as our esteemed faculty member!
Miss Ellen will teach the advanced tap class as well as ballet/pointe
classes at Art in Motion. Miss Ellen's lifelong dedication to her
dance students carries over to the students of Art in Motion! We
are honored and pleased to have the legacy live on at Art in Motion!
Art in Motion is pleased to announce our newest faculty member, Miss Melissa Lucchesi.
Melissa began her dance studies at the age of 3 and has trained in all areas of dance.
Melissa has been teaching dance to students in Delaware County for the past 7 years and
will be a wonderful addition to our school! In addition to her teaching endeavors, she also
works as the manager of outreach and education at the Domestic Abuse Project of
Delaware County, Inc. where she works works directly with children teaching them to create
healthy and positive relationships!
